It’s almost the end of February! I know tmw is feb 29th, but since it normally doesn’t exist, I’m not going to count it. But omg! It’s almost march and I’m scared. That means my impending move to Chicago is that much closer and I’m going to be flung back into reality and all that hectic chaos. I’ve spent the last three months blissfully unaware and procrastinating. Time to get back into the rhythm of things!

So here’s my sorta bucket list…preferably finished before I hit middle age:

1. I want to go to NY fashion week. Front row. I know, totally frivolous…
2. I want to write. A novel. But probably with better sentences than the ones going on in this list. But this is tumblr, so grammar be damn!
3. I want to spend a summer going to all the music festivals. I want to go to ultra in Miami, coachella and outside lands in Cali, and just spend a night losing my inhibitions to skrillex (whose name just made my spellcheck go crazy)
4. I want to get my fellowship. Yay, something actually related to the field I’ve devoted the last seven years to studying getting on this list!
5. I want to be happy, healthy, and living in a kickass house

Why is it that when I’m about to move away, I have all these dreams of grandeur. I always picture living the good life…dressing up, pretty nails, eating out. But it’s just a flight of fancy and I’ll end up in sweats studying lol

So the first month of the year has ended and now it’s the little month of love. January was kinda a big deal…full of little milestones: passing step one and getting my rotation spot. Now, I’ve just talked to my cousin and I’m excited because everything is just a little bit more real. While I won’t be staying with her, which I wanted out of convenience, she’s going to find me an apartment and letting me use her old furniture. So that’s a few less things I have to worry about! And, honestly, I’m hopeful and excited for this reunion. We’ve had our differences and rivalry but we were always similar. My mom thinks I’m being childish and idealistic but I look forward to eating out and shopping with her. Well let’s see how everything will turn out!!

Happy February!! It’s the first time since 2009 that I haven’t spent this month on a small isolated island in the middle of the Caribbean sea! Yay!

So on lunar new year, I received the news that I was moving to Chicago for a rotation spot. I was unbelievably elated! I’ll be moving in April, giving me the chance to spend Thai New Years with my parents! So let’s tally up the cities I’ve lived in since high school graduation: Berkeley, Los Angeles, Portsmouth (Dominica), Miami, and up next… Chicago

It’s a beautiful day in the newest month of 2012. The sky is a clear blue, the sunshine radiating every nook and cranny of LA, and there’s a nary to do. I love it. Sipping coffee with my mom and watching TMZ. I love these peaceful mornings where the world is just resting. Love it and determined to make this the best year yet!!

Boy, this was a long year and yet it still flew by! In this single year, I’ve lived in three different cities and finished what will be the last of any sort of classroom studying! Anywho, let’s hope for a better year in 2012, after all, if the Mayans are right, it may be our last!
